The Best Sunset Spot, Daegu Apsan Park
Apsan Park is one of the favorite destinations for hikers in Daegu. It is a wonderful mountain that is located in the conjunction of other two mountains, Mt. Daedeoksan and Mt. Sanseongsan.
The area of Apsan park is 1,653 m² and includes a Korean War museum, a cable car and a Buddhist temple.
The hiking trails are full of flowers and creeks in spring, and it is very relaxing climbing up to the observatory, the views are spectacular. From the base of the mountain the visitors have the option to choose three types of trails, one group go to the top of Apsan Mountain, other one connect to Sanseongsan Mountain and the last groups go to Daedeoksan Mountains. The length of trails can go from 2Km to 4Km, every one of them perfectly limited and with resting areas.
Apsan observatory is perfect for a panoramic view of the city, and during spring the sunsets are amazing. Visitors also have the option of having dinner or taking a cup of coffee in one of the places located at the top of the mountain.
But if you don´t like to hike but you don´t want miss the chance to have the incredible view from Apsan, you can also take the cable car, which works from 9am to 7pm and costs KRW 7,500. The gondola offers you the chance to watch a vivid landscape merging the mountain and the city while it takes you up to the observatory.
There are many platforms where you can have different views of the city and the surrounding nature. There are also nice places for having a picnic with friends or family. But you never forget to bring your camera because of the breathtaking scenery around you.
If you want to get Apsan there are several buses that go there such as 300, 410, 410-1 and 750. Also you can take the red subway line to Anjirang Station (안지랑역), go out exit #3, then walk for around 20 minutes or take a cab.
